The Gasherbrum Project - Align [Sepoys DnB Reshape] | DnB India Premieres [India]

Formed in 2018, Antariksh Records is a Delhi based label focusing on the underground realms of electronic dance music in India. Since their inception, the label has been successfully dishing out quality releases from artists in the South Asian subcontinent. No genres barred is the label’s mantra and they have established their ethos by offering the masses quality underground sounds irrespective of the genre.

Sticking to the label’s values, Antariksh Records has stepped into the Drum & Bass world and they have done it in style. “The Gasherbrum Project” is a sample-based breaks and techno jazz initiative from New Delhi. The first instalment of the project featured two delicious groovy cuts; Align and Fursat, which revolves around the universe of breaks infused with thrilling vocal samples each setting a different mood.

For the project’s remix compilation, we are stoked to feature a rework of Align by Rohit Tandon aka Sepoys; an Indian talent based in Vancouver; who has employed his signature intricate touch to “Align”. Sepoys’ Drum & Bass reshape of the track is an immersive deep-stepper with snappy breakbeats and a scorching mid-bass. Loaded with sophisticated rhythms and intricate drum patterns, Align’s Drum & Bass reshape is Sepoys’ best work till date.

1985 Music return with the second installment of their 'Folio' series featuring Alix Perez, Hyroglifics and many more.

Since making their debut in 2016, Alix Perez’s 1985 Music Imprint has taken the Drum & Bass world by storm. Since their first release with DRS and Spectrasoul, the label has built their own brand of Drum & Bass which is heavily influenced by Alix Perez’s adventures in a variety of genres and the label has been successful in promoting all things Drum & Bass and everything in between.

Releases from the likes of Eprom, Fracture, and Alix Perez himself for himself for his Shades alias with Eprom are a testament to the label’s penchant for venturing into different genres of bass music.

Along with releasing groundbreaking music from the finest by the finest Drum & Bass artists, the label has also thrived on releasing diverse compilations from the artists on their roster and they have been very successful in delivering cutting edge music in all the compilations released until now.

The label released Folio 1 back in 2017, which included tunes from the likes of Halogenix, Monty, Submarine and the head honcho himself. 1985 Music has returned with their second installment of the ‘Folio’ Series and this time they have done a one up on their previous edition.

‘Folio 2’ is another full throttle Drum & Bass compilation featuring tunes from label regulars like Submarine, Hyroglifics, Visages, Scepticz and Lavance. First track ‘White Lies’ by Alix Perez is signature Mr. Perez featuring minimal territories of Drum & Bass with haunting basslines. ‘Grunge’ by Submarine is another rumbling low-end blooter aimed at the dance floor. Scepticz and Lavance have returned to the label with ‘Flatline’ which is a hefty industrial roller filled with clacking rhythms dextrously rippling over beams of aggressive dark side bass. ‘Searching’ by Hyroglifics and Visages is the signature sound the label has been championing since their inception; rolling, sleek and cutting edge.

Chase & Status deliver a skull shattering remix of Original Nuttah for its 25th anniversary.

If there is one word to describe Chase & Status right now, it would be, Relentless. The London based trio have been on a complete rampage in 2019. Releasing their groundbreaking RTRN II JUNGLE album which is arguably the best album of 2019 and touring the globe in the process, there is no stopping these guys at the moment.

Never in the entire history of Drum and Bass and Jungle music, there was an album which was anticipated and hyped like RTRN II JUNGLE and boy did they deliver. The album is Chase & Status’ own take on the Iconic UK genre that is Jungle music and every tune from the album knocks you in the head.

Just when we thought it was over, the trio have dropped another bomb on us and this time, they have remixed the genre’s most iconic tune ever. Original Nuttah is a bonafide Jungle classic and no other act until now had dared to remix the tune because of the tune’s stature in the scene. But for an act who have transcended Drum & Bass like no other artist and the act who have turned more people on to Drum & Bass than any other act out there worldwide, we knew that the outcome was going to be colossal.

The original as we know is an absolute scorcher and to celebrate the tune’s 25th anniversary, Chase & Status featuring Irah, have delivered a rework of the original which will definitely, as some guy once said, turn Hare Krishna into a bad boy. :P
